    The Makcik selling food at the canteen of the Istana was asking me what I was doing in the Istana ('palace' in Malay; to mean the Singapore's version of the Buckingham Palace; though, in this case the President doesn't actually stay there).

    I mumbled something in a mix of Malay and English...

    "Err... Istana... er... buat... pavilion... President tengok... untuk ASEAN anniversary... err... pakai postcard..."

    I can't explain it then and I still can't explain in now.

    40th ASEAN Anniversary. Pavilions contructed with postcards drawn and written by children across ASEAN. For the President of Singapore to see.
