Sign of maturity? 21. I hate that number.
Bitched on: Sunday, July 16, 2006 Time: 7/16/2006 10:30:00 PM
I'm turning 21. Gosh...
Is it really a big deal?
All my friends who turned (and turning) 21 this year think so.
Numerous birthday parties springing up here and there.
I have been to close to 15 birthday parties this year alone (and counting...)
And I have spent a minimum 20 bucks per birthday boy/girl.
I have never spent so much on so many persons in my 20 years!
But I'm not complaining. Seriously. I'm not stingy with my money (especially those I'm really really close to) and I'm also the sort who would put real thought into a gift (unlike 'hitch-hikers' who would 'hitch' a ride at the very last minute, you know what I mean).
I know I have given some female friends shopping vouchers for ZARA, Mango, Wisma and what have you... its only because I know how you girls like shopping... lol.
So I had put a lot of thoughts on all your gifts. haha...
That actually puts pressure on a lot of my friends, hor?
Go crack your heads on what I want for my birthday, guys, cause I seriously do not know what I want... and not vouchers please, cause the vouchers would just be eaten by moths in my drawer.
There's actually one thing I really want more than anything in the world. And there is only one person who can give it to me. I shan't elaborate...
Now, I'm beginning to worry. Should I have a 21st birthday party? Some of my friends had had their parties at chalets in Pasir Ris, Changi and Sentosa. Some had had them in their void decks, restaurants, clubs, Mac D's and even hotels (wow!). And then there are those who are fortunate to have a 'friend' organize a surprise birthday party.
You are only going to turn 21 once...
But there are those who celebrate their birthdays quietly...
But it would be nice to celebrate it around friends and family.
But is there a need for the party???
Should I have a party?
What if no one comes?
How about the food? How much will everything cost?
Should I bother to have a party? Or shouldn't?
Chalet or my own house? Clubbing or no clubbing?
Sigh...
I'm turning 21. Its more of a headache than a joy. For me and my friends.
PS: I know my birthday is still at least two months away but I need to start considering now if I need a party...
