- YouTube.com is banned in Thailand not once but twice.
Thailand has blocked YouTube for a second time, due to a video mocking King Bhumibol Adulyadej. According to Reuters, Thailand’s Communications Minister Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom had YouTube blocked after their requests to Google to have the clip taken down were ignored. The first time YouTube was blocked in Thailand was possibly for showing related to clips from a CNN interview that features Thailand’s ex-Prime Minister Thaksin. The clip is not only “offensive” to Thailand’s monarchy, but has been criticized by several Buddhists as well, because of the clip’s showing a pair of women’s feet (the lowest part of the body) above the head (the highest part of the body). Criticizing royalty in Thailand is a crime punishable by up to 15 years in jail. This Blogger says: I'm not going to show the offensive video here. I still want to go Thailand for holidays you know.
- Paris Hilton has been jailed for 45 days
In March 2007, the Los Angeles City's Attorney's Office claimed that Hilton violated the terms of her DUI (Driving Under Influence) probation by speeding without her headlights on, driving with a suspended license, and failing to enroll in a court-ordered alcohol education program. On May 4, 2007 Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in a correctional facility for violating her probation, and she is required to begin her jail term by June 5, 2007 or risk a doubling of her sentence. This Blogger says: Her sister Nicky has started a chain of boutique hotels, maybe Paris should start her own chain of boutique prisons. Hilton Prisons. That's hot. PS: Can't wait for the new season of Simple Life. Nicole Ritchie and her have patched up and are currently shooting another season: A Simple Prison Life.
- Singapore A-list Mediacorp actor Christopher Lee was sentenced to a month's jail
He was also disqualified from driving for three years and fined $4,500 for DUI and hit-and-run. He had hit a motorcycle which was in front of his car. The rider and his pillion rider fell. Lee drove off and stopped some distance away. Instead of helping them, he got into his car and drove off. This Blogger says: Jail that coward's arse. And what's $4,500 to that overpaid talentless chicken? Labels: Army, Asia, Hollywood, Singapore stories, YouTube
