    Pre-ordered Hari Raye...
Bitched on: Sunday, October 14, 2007
    Time: 10/14/2007 01:35:00 AM

    "Mummy, ketupat basi...,"
(Mummy, the ketupats (rice dumplings) have gone bad)
    I shouted from the kitchen.

    "Berlendeh..."
    (they have gone slimey)

Dreaded words to be heard on the morning of Aidilfitri.
No more pre-ordered ketupats for us next year.

Almost everything seems to be pre-ordered this year. The kuihs (goodies and cookies) were all bought (my Mum used to make at least one type before this year).
The goodies are not bad but the ketupats, very disappointing.

Reminder for next year: buy lontongs (rice cakes) just in case...

    Arabian Nights
Bitched on: Friday, June 08, 2007
    Time: 6/08/2007 06:00:00 PM

This blogger will be flying off to the Middle East tonight.

Same time tomorrow, I will be in Dubai... So exciting!!! The Burj-Al Arab (above); I have a fetish for curvy skyscrapers.

Of course its not the highlight of the trip. I would be performing the umrah (a 'minor' haj, pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca). I would get to circle the Kaaba (below) seven times (tawaf) and most probably shave my head bald (halq).

    Yes, I am nervous.

Am I ready? I have a lot of friends asking me that.

Well, it is a big deal. Visiting the holy city, the cradle of the Islam civilisation. Going back to my roots. To the roots of Islam.

"Are you sure you are ready?"
"I don't think you are ready..."

    Well, SHUT it.

I'm not sure. And who are you to doubt me?
I'm leaving it all to God's grace. And maybe, you should too.
So instead of doubting me, congratulate me.

    200th Entry
Bitched on: Tuesday, April 24, 2007
    Time: 4/24/2007 11:58:00 PM

This will be my official 200th entry. (Plus I will also be inviting my 15000th blog reader). Not bad for just over a year of blogging. So again, thanks.

I just wanted to blog about what I'm going to be doing during the coming holidays (officially starts on the 3rd for me).

I just had my second last paper a few hours ago. And my final paper will be next week (the 3rd of May); whilst most of my friends will be finishing their exams tomorrow (and those in NTU should be working part-time by now lah)... Dang...

Fortunately, I've already secured a job with my lecturer. Decent pay and a lot of benefits... Lol.

So my holiday break is going to be packed.

Part-time researching work in May. And then the trips to Saudi Arabia and Dubai in June. And then Freshmen Orientation Camp in July. And finally back to school again in August.

    So exciting.

So here's a clip from "Russel Peters 'live' in NYC" to celebrate.

Enjoy. See parts 2 to 7 here.

    Babeling...
Bitched on: Sunday, April 08, 2007
    Time: 4/08/2007 11:37:00 AM

    Yesterday's rain was so horrible!

The thunder yesterday was non-stop and loud!!! The wind was howling like mad too. And I kinda forgot to close the kitchen windows until it was almost too late. Half the kitchen was wet.

And flashes of lightning struck uber close to my house. So close, it caused a black-out.

I was momentarily stunned in the pitch-black house. My first instinct was to run out of the house screaming. But then I decided to do something more sensible and look for the torchlight. When I couldn't find the torch after a couple of minutes, I reconsidered running out of the house screaming again.

But then again, I remembered about the main switch that you have to turn on whenever there's a blackout. So I felt my way around to find the switch to turn it on.

    Haha... I'm such a wimp.

Anyway, my parents got into an accident yesterday in JB. Nothing bad, thank God. But the car's front bottom part was smashed in. Some pail fell from the back of some stupid trailer and my dad's car behind that stupid trailer drove over the pail. It sounded like some small stupid accident but it was enough to smash in the front of the car.

The Malaysian trailer was speeding by the way. Jackass.
People like this should be ban from driving forever. Stupid jackass.

Well, it was an expansive grocery trip to Malaysia in the end (to get the car fixed).

Anyway, I rented 'Babel', starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. I heard it was supposed to be good but, man, was I disappointed. Disappointed.

The movie seemingly solidified the stereotypes of the different nationalities. Moroccan officials are corrupt. Americans are jackasses who think that the whole world are against them. Mexicans are treated badly by the Americans, plus they live in smelly dusty slums. And Japanese schoolgirls are horny, very horny.

And Babel has nude scenes. A lot. And some Sharon Stone's Basic Instinct moments too. Well, its surprising cause I rented the DVD from VideoEzy. Yes, VideoEzy. Shouldn't all this be censored? I'm not complaining, I'm just concerned that this kind of DVDs might get into the wrong hands, children's. It has full frontal for God's sake. Well, the only warning was this really small sticker showing Mature 18. Anyway, the movie sucked, a lot of babeling.

Bloggers Note: Happy Easter to all my Christian friends and readers. I got this new episode of South Park for all to enjoy.

    Reunion 'Camp'
Bitched on: Sunday, February 18, 2007
    Time: 2/18/2007 03:01:00 PM

While most Chinese families were busy having reunion dinners at numerous restaurants nationwide yesterday, many ('Many' with a capitol 'M') Malay families were having picnics or camps at Changi Beach. It was like a 'Little Malay Fishing Village' on the beach.

    How did I know?

Well, my family was one of them. And my relatives were there too. It was our first try at having a camp at the beach (complete with tents and fishing equipment and stuff).

We even had a gazebo too. Think that was too much?

We were so bloody overwhelmed by the 'camping' powers of other Malay families there. Many had come in full force with many other related families pitching their tents in a 7m radius with a picnic stone table (or foldable tables) in the core. Others had their own portable barbecue pits and even buffet spreads under gazebos. Then there were those with hammocks, clotheslines and tents hung between trees. But those families complete with generators and television sets (...yes TV!!!) really took the cake.

By the time my family got there, all the good camping sites were taken (those nearest to the toilets... go figure...). So ours was a good 400m away from the toilet. But that was fine, cause the areas there were extremely claustrophobic; tents there were so freaking close to one another. Our site had enough space to play beach soccer, 'dog and bone' and we even had water balloon fights lah...

The beach there shouldn't really be called a beach. Seaweed and rubbish litter the entire place, plus there wasn't much of a shoreline to begin with. And many people (including my cousins and sisters had no qualms about walking barefoot along the slimy shoreline), I wore my sandals initially before walking barefoot too. And I regretted that decision. It was hellishly disgusting and slimy. Plus I stepped onto some broken glass (or maybe I was stung) and now I have something lodged in the sole of my foot. Dammit...

Anyway, we got back home later that night itself cause unlike the other Malay families out there, we were so 'unprepared' to camp overnight (read: no TV, washing machine and stove). Plus we didn't catch any fish either... What a boring first time for me...

Note to self: Remember to book a bungalow house in Changi again during the next school break (like the one I had for my birthday). It has a TV, washing machine and stove, plus a clean private beach.

Now that's what I call camping.

    I hate Valentine's Day.

    That's all.

Update: I happened to read the Straits Time Life section (I would just read the comics strips usually...) about how young singles are now not ashamed of putting their profiles up publicly to be match made in matchmaking agencies and stuff.

So, being the desperado that I am, I will put up a profile of myself on this blog when I have the time. Just watch this space. :)

Update: Other than going to Madina and Mecca, I'll be going to Dubai too. I'll be gone for 13 days (tentatively from 9 to 21 June).
So, to my Freshmen Orientation Camp (FOC) committee, I guess you have to work without your beloved FOC Head on those days.... muahahaha....

    ___________________________

Its official, I'm going Mecca and Medina for Umrah (mini-Haj) this coming June holidays.

    *thud*
That's the sound of a thousand people falling off their chairs.

I know its damn surprising. Heck, even I'm still trying to get over the shock.

Imagine me going there to perform the pilgrimage!

Its just going to be 10 days but I would still be wearing that two pieces of white cloth sans the underwear and all when I'm in the holy city of Mecca. And I think I would need to shave my head prior to the trip.

But we won't be staying in tents of some sort in Mecca (unlike those performing the month long Haj); it would still be in some hotel.

Plus I'm staying at the Hilton's in Medina (shit... I can't stop thinking of Paris Hilton when I think of Hilton hotels...).
    Oh dear...

    I'm so not ready.

    Goodbye 2006!!! Goodbye 2007?!!
Bitched on: Sunday, December 31, 2006
    Time: 12/31/2006 10:51:00 PM

2006 is/was (depending on when you read this) really an eventful year for me.

I ORD-ed from the Army. And then into university I went.
How drastic the change was. From restricted freedom to unlimited freedom. From wearing green (and not forgeting uncomfortable boots) all day, sticking to almost-impossible-schedules, waking up in ungodly reveille hours, getting into trouble (with fat Warrant Officers) and being outfield in camo, dirty and 'unshowered' for days... to finally being normal, a civilian.

And I can't believe I'm going to say this but I really miss Army.

I really do. I miss my friends. I miss my men. I miss my recruits. I miss the camaraderie. And I miss having the 'power'. Ha ha...

And coming back to school, to university, was like a culture shock. Took us (guys) a while to re-adjust and 're-use' our rusty brains. Plus, the introduction of girls into the picture reverted us back from our barbaric ways to our pre-army ways.

How my life has changed. 2006...

    A bittersweet year.

Never would I have imagined at the beginning of 2006, I would lose my only living grandparent. My Grandma was perfectly fine till the last quarter of the year. And she passed away not soon after.

    :-(

    Sigh...

That aside, we have an addition to the family. My sister got engaged. All the best to her and her fiance (the best brother-in-law I can ever ask for, FYI) who are getting married early this/next year (again depending on when you read this).

I re-read my blog entry last year, the one with all my new year resolutions for 2006.

I forgot I had writen one till a good friend of mine reminded me (to her; 2006 has been a really tough time for you, I wish you a problem-free 2007. Start afresh, babe. Gambatte.)

Oh well, back to my 2006 resolutions, I failed miserably.

Firstly, I have yet to get a licence (to kill... no lah... to drive... which reminds me I haven't watch James Bond yet...). I am freaking stupid. Period. My PDL expired like eons ago. Yet, 0 lessons so far.

And secondly, still no girlfriend. Grrr...
    Nuff said... Grrr...

Lost interest in getting a marine aquarium tank. No more Nemo for me. But I am thinking of adopting baby penguins now... especially feet-tapping ones.

Sports? What sports? Whatever happened to that idea to pick up a physical sport?

But there were other resolutions that I made it through.
Like choosing a university and a course (obviously). Getting a new wardrobe. Saving money. And still continue with my gyming and running (yes, I run now!).

That said, I still have to come up with resolutions for 2007.
    So here goes:
    • Get a cap score of at least 4.5 next semester to make up for my average first semester.
    • Dance in NUS's 'Dance Blast' (finally, after shelving that idea last semester).
    • Do well as a member of TAS (The Architectural Society) and probably organise the next FOC (Freshmen Orientation Camp) as the 'Head'.
    • Get a girlfriend (****priority****).
    • Get a job during the June holidays.
    • Save money $$$$$$$$$$.
    • Go to Dubai in June. Maybe Australia too. And Thailand in December.

And like tradition (What tradition? I have been blogging for only a year), here are my hopes for 2007.

    I have none.

    2007.

    Hopeless.

    Kidding.

But seriously, the world is coming to an end. Sooner than we expect it to be. And if we don't do something about it, we are all going to die by 2020 maybe. Just look at the weather patterns now. Everything changed. Everything, every disaster, is much more drastic. More unimaginable earthquakes. Hurricanes and tropical storms are stronger and bigger than usual. Unusual rain storms strike everywhere.

The recent regional rain is so bad, there are floods in Singapore (despite the effective drainage system here), Malaysia (said to be its worst national disaster, with hundreds of thousands evacuated) and Indonesia (plus, Aceh was struck with another earthquake)!

The weather patterns are so screwed up globally that it recently snowed in some parts of Australia (when it is supposed to be summer down under). Plus there was also snow in the middle east!!! In Jerusalem!! So weird.

In addition to that, winters in Europe and North America are relatively warmer too. Even New York City was not spared; it had its first snow-less winter in 150 years. And Scandinavian countries have comparatively more snow-less mountain peaks now, thanks to the global warming.

    People. Wake up!

    We need to do something!!!

    Sigh...

I sound a bit insane, I know. I just hope that there will be a 2008 for me to write my resolutions again. Lol.

    Happy Holidays.
Bitched on: Sunday, December 24, 2006
    Time: 12/24/2006 02:09:00 PM

I don't celebrate Christmas and I get really pissed off when people ask me how I celebrate Christmas.

    Call me the Grinch, whatever.

To me Christmas is a Christian holy day (*not holiday*), so there.

I can't help but feel its close to losing its 'spirit' and intention to greed and American commercialization (like Valentine's and Halloween...) with its global kitsch 'Winter Wonderland' decorations (especially in tropical Singapore) and images of greedy kids opening stacks of presents around a fake Christmas tree.

    Call me a traditionalist, whatever.

But this doesn't mean I hate Christmas.

I just get frustrated when non-Christians celebrate it just because they think its 'Western' and they celebrate Christmas with total disregard for the Christian traditions ('merry-making' like drinking and partying... ehem...)...

So to all my Christian friends, Happy Holidays.
Enjoy this clip. I find it really cute.

    The Festive Joy Horror
Bitched on: Saturday, October 28, 2006
    Time: 10/28/2006 06:43:00 PM

    You mean I'm a granduncle?

My cousin and my aunt reconciled after years of not on speaking terms.
Its Hari Raya- a season to forgive and forget.
And I didn't know why they didn't forgive and forget for the last three years...

And within those few years, a lot had happened...I don't even know how the fight began - I try (...try...) not to be so kaypoh (busybody).
But all I know is that she had totally shut off her mum ever since my uncle's death. That was the last time I saw my cousin and her family.

My cousin, for your information, is in her late forties and her eldest son is older than me by a couple of years. This is kinda normal for a Malay family. My mum had 8 other siblings and naturally when my grandma was pregnant with her seventh or eight child, my eldest aunt was pregnant with her first... and that goes on and on...

Us, Malays, reproduced like rabbits. We didn't just stop at 3, we ('we' and I mean Malays of yesteryear) had at least 6. And age is never a concern. Like my 40-something uncle who had another child just a few years back.

Its not just family gatherings which are difficult, remembering the names of your cousin or even how you should address them is confusing- uncle or just cousin?

And early marriages are a norm for us Malays (yesteryear AND present). But its for different reasons. Yesteryear, Malays get married young and then they start a family.
But now, its (oh-oh) pregnancy first then marriage.

At least that's probably true for my cousin's eldest son.

You mean he's married now? When?
And he has two kids now?

What a difference 3 years can make.

    ...

    Yay yey, Hari Raye!!!
Bitched on: Monday, October 23, 2006
    Time: 10/23/2006 12:48:00 AM

I've been so busy the past month, I barely realised its going to be Hari Raya all over again.

Not sure why, but I'm really not in the festive mood this year. Probably because of all the coming deadlines looming over me.
Shit man... So many projects, essays and other stuff all due almost the same time.

Man... No wonder, I was so into the workload that the Ramadhan month went passed so quickly...

Speaking of Ramadhan, its probably the seventh year that I have fasted the entire month without a break.

    Thank you. Thank you.

Would have been the 8th year if not for my 'A' levels in 2003.
    Couldn't tahan (take it)... lol.

Anyway, that should be expected of someone my age (not too young and not too old and sickly). And also because I'm male and I have no excuse to not fast (womenfolk who are ehem... having that time of the month can't fast).
I almost past out of dehydration while at my field camp during my stint in the Army. But I pulled through amazingly. Can't say the same for some of my friends though.

Speaking of which, guys who are openly (and shamelessly) not fasting during the month really sicken me...

Like this young Malay couple I had the misfortune to share the bus with while I was on my way to school. It was really sickening cause they were eating KFC fried chicken and other side dishes on the bus!
I know they would obviously be 'embarassed' to be seen not fasting and eating in the KFC restaurant. But on the bus?!
    Come on.
Have some decency and consideration. Not only are you blatantly not considerate to the bus driver who has to clean up after you, you are also openly eating in front of other people who might be fasting (like myself). And that was so... unbelievably inconsiderate.
I would understand if you were not Malay, but being one... and not fasting... that just irks me!
If you aren't fasting in the first place due to whatever reasons (menstruating or what, I dunno how this applies to that guy), have the decency to eat at home or somewhere private...

At first I thought it was just the girl eating but then I caught a glimpse of the guy also munching on a burger.
    Sickening. Shameful. Disgusting.

They were so happily eating an entire KFC feast and were 'oblivious' that there were other Malay-Muslims around them, bothered and irritated like myself.

    Shame on them...

And that couple wasn't the only isolated case. I had another encounter with another young Malay couple on another bus.
This time they were so touchy and lovey-dovey that I felt like puking. Seriously.

They were making out and trading saliva with each other...
    And boy, were they loud.
In case you are thinking that I was some perv who kept staring at them, let me tell you that I was seated first and they happened to have chosen a seat in front of me.

    It was really an eyesore.

For the benefit of non-Muslims, according to Islamic law, an unwed couple shouldn't be behaving intimately like this.
Heck, in fact, contact between a man and woman (without blood relations) is strictly forbidden.
Furthermore, its the month of Ramadhan, supposedly the holiest month.

And that was what the guy behind me actually told the misbehaving couple when he confronted and berated the couple. The couple was actually too shocked for words and I couldn't stop smiling. Haha...

    Serve them right.

Actually, I shouldn't be bitching about them...
I'm supposed to be doing good deeds and forget bad habits.
And its also the season to seek forgiveness and spread compassion...
    Oops... My bad.

(Contrary to popular belief, Hari Raya Aidilfitri itself doesn't mark the new year, its just mark the passing of the month from Ramadhan to the month of Syawal)

So since this is the eve of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, I would like to take this chance to seek forgiveness from all my friends and family members for all my wrongdoings (I've just saved money on buying Hari Raya cards... lol... oops)...

    So to all my friends,

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir dan Batin.

To all Muslims around the world,
Eid Mubarak Greetings and may peace be upon you.

And before I forget, to my all Hindu friends and readers,
    Have a Happy Deepavali.

    My Boring Holiday
Bitched on: Saturday, March 04, 2006
    Time: 3/04/2006 02:09:00 PM

I am writing this entry in a Internet cafe in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the last day of the trip with the background blaring with gaming noise and the racket from the gamers themselves (so much for booking the 'quiet' room).

This is the second time in 4 months since I have been here. And while the previous holiday was simply put, a Horrible Holiday, this one was surprisingly boring. This time, I went with my Army friends instead of the family (thank God).

There were 4 of us; (from left) Hafizan, Weiyong (both ex-platoon mates from BMTC), Weiqiang (Weiyong's good friend since secondary school, and he is also a fellow BMTC colleague, though I have never seen him before) and I.

And we are here for four days and three nights. .

We went up to Genting Highlands on the first day and stayed a night there in this very small and pathethic excuse for a 'hotel room' that has an 'amazing' view, of other hotel rooms just barely three metres away from our huge glass window. You heard me right, we could openly look into at least 10 other hotel rooms just metres away from our window! Fortunately or unfortunately (depends on how you look at it), all the rooms were vacant (so unfortunately, for Weiyong, there were no sex parties in the adjacent rooms where he can climb into and join...his exact words.).

Well, the rides were the same. But gone were the queues for the rides (due to the fact that we there on a Tuesday and it wasn't a public holiday in Malaysia, unlike during the Christmas holidays when I went the previous time). And to a certain extent, we need queues in the world.

    Why?

Well, within 2 hours, we were done with all the rides in the outdoor theme park (seriously all the rides). We were also able to ride some of the rides twice or thrice. I was the most daring amongst the four (surprisingly...) so I had to coax and force the rest to take the huge roller coaster and the space shot with me (though in the end, some, I will not mention names, chickened out). Well, I was game for everything, even to the extent of going on the rides alone even. Somehow, I miss

(I'm sorry, I have to stop typing and using this computer... a really foul-smelling dude just came in to use the computer in front of me!!! Oh my God, doesn't he shower?!! And the room is air-conditioned too.. I'll continue finishing this entry when I come back to Singapore. Euuwww...)

Ok, where was I? Ah yes... Somehow, I miss both my sisters who are just (if not more) daring as me to play all the rides.

The guys and I tried all the rides, no matter how lame they were. The 'haunted' pirate ride wasn't even haunted with a single soul lah... We even tried the 'Tea Cup' ride, which turned out to be the worst and dizzying ride of all!! Haha, that was a lot of fun. And the T-Rex on the Dinosaurland ride was like... dying... LOL. I was just trying to squeeze every single cent worth of the RM42 entry fee...

All was not lost when I tried the Sky Diving Stimulator in the Indoor Theme Park for an additional RM38. Initially we thought the price was steep but then the ride was really cool!!! We were like, flying!! Highly recommended and its definitely something I look forward to trying again! ( I know my Commando friends would be- What? Been there, done that! We did the real thing!) sheesh...

Somehow, up there in Genting, I was constantly hungry, buying snacks at every shop I see. I dunno why, probably because of the higher metabolic rate or wadever in the colder atmosphere up there. I was a pig, an annoying one at that, I will repeat the same thing, "I'm hungry, can we grab a bite?" Well, I promised myself that I was gonna hit the weights in gym, straight away after coming back to Singapore.

Well, we spent the rest of the day sleeping up in our 'cells'. We were really dead tired.

Then we thought of catching a movie but really, why go all the way to Genting to watch a movie? So that idea was scrapped. Instead, we slept again. Eager to go down to KL the next afternoon.

The next day arrived, we took a cable car down to the station at the foot of the hill (now that was scary as hell!) We had to trust our lives on a thin wire connected to our gondola by a thin hook-like thingy. But the view was breath-taking.

From there we took a minivan to our hotel in KL. I initially worried that it would be worse than our hotel in Genting but it was really splendid. Blew my expectations away. It was small, but they had cable, a mini fridge and most importantly (for me and Weiqiang), they had a bathtub (at least only my room had a bathtub but not Weiyong's and Weiqiang's room. So, Weiqiang borrowed the bathtub on the 2nd night for a... shower?!). And the view of the city skyline was teriffic (my room was at the twelth storey).

So anyway, the first day was spent, what else? Napping.

But we did visit the Petronas Twin Towers and attempted to shop there. The prices were equivalent if not more expensive than in Singapore. The other guys bought jeans and stuff at a discount but the clothes which we on sale were not really much to my liking. We took a lot of pix at the park-cum-water fountain in front of the two towers. I even humiliated myself by asking (in really 'broken' Malay) a Malaysian dude to help us to take a group shoot but ended up being teased for my limited vocab (hardly the proudest moment in my life, I am such a stupid kentang!).

Then we spent the rest of the day shopping at KL's Chinatown, Petaling Street (which was a stone's throw from our hotel, the Ancasa Hotel). It was really crowded with locals and 'ang moh' (Western) tourists alike. All was fine until I almost came to blows with a shopkeeper (a stupid misunderstanding which ended up with him grabbing me by the arm, and swearing). The cheek of that asshole, his filthy hand on my arm. How can you force someone to buy something if you are no longer interested? So much for 'the customers are always right'. That shook me up a little bit and it totally spoilt my mood to shop. Empty handed (except for Weiyong who bought shoes), we went up to our rooms to retire for the night.

The next morning started promising with a great (free) breakfast and then a taxi ride to Bukit Bintang (the city's shopping district, the Orchard Road or the Rodeo Drive of Kuala Lumpur) which was nice cept for the price again. Then we went to Times Square, a really huge hotel and shopping centre with a cool indoor theme park. I didn't get to try the rides in the theme park cause the others were not interested (I miss my sisters...). So we 'rotted' at Macs, taking turns to go to the toilet...

So we went back to our hotel room, and you guessed it, napped the rest of the day away. Hafizan had to go back early so he took a bus back to Singapore that evening, leaving me alone to sleep in my room that night.

Before you are gonna think that we slept all the way to the next morning, you are wrong. We were just saving up on our sleep for that night. We went to Zouk KL!!! Something I was really forward to in the entire trip. For future references, the club is opposite a Maia Hotel, a primary school and (get this) a Muslim cementary! Its at Jalan Ampas. And just mention the neighbouring Saloma Bistro and the taxi driver can take you there. Its also walking distance from the Petronas Twin Towers. So from the carpark of Zouk, you can see the impressive backdrop of the two buildings, tall and illuminated like two curvy keris (Malay daggers). It opens only after 10pm (what the hell?!). Thursdays are ladies' night (that's all I know and care). And the entry fee is just RM28!!! That's like half of Singapore's entry fees!!

We went on Friday for your info. And initially we joked that it was gays' night (of course it wasn't) but when we entered and the ratio of guys to girls were like 4 is to 1, we were scared... haha... But it was really just a normal night. We were disappointed that guys actually outnumbered the girls.

11pm and the crowd was pathetic, us 3 played awfully childish and loud 'drinking' games to pass the time. The staff there even outnumbered the clubbers. They were going around taking our orders! We didn't even have to leave our seats to go to the bar. How convenient but sad was that?

The dance floor was empty except for a bunch of losers dancing solo (more like dancing interpretive dance). It remained empty until 12 plus! Only then a few more losers started dancing. Then things only heated up when 4 young ang moh (Caucasian) ladies started dirty dancing (together, for fun) at the top of the central 'stage'. Every guy in the room started wolf-whistling and cheering on. And boy were they hot.

That was when the party started picking up. Really slowly....

    Really really slowly...

    Really really really slowly...

That was when (fed-up) Weiyong pulled me up to the 'stage' to shake our bon-bons.

After 'wriggling' on the the stage for a few minutes, I saw from the corner of my eye two gals dancing beside us on the the dancefloor. I couldn't tell whether they were white, hispanic or middle eastern but one of them was really cute (short curly hair, large eyes and really curvy body). The other gal was probably triple my size (if you know what I mean) but pretty nonetheless (with longer hair and a beautiful face). I was eyeing the smaller girl and initially she made shy attempts to look back. She even tried dancing behind the larger frame of her dance partner to steal glances up. Then she became bolder and the pair came closer to our 'stage'. Our eyes just stayed glued to each other while dancing with our own partners. I mouthed to Weiyong that I was getting off the stage. But to my horror when I looked down, her friend was pulling her away up to the VIP corner. She was reluctant but I guess they were probably having a party up there cause I saw a few more of their friends beckoning the pair to join them. That was the last time I saw her.

We went out after that and went in again when I told the guys about the girl. We couldn't find her, sadly. And to think, things would have gone well that night (I was sleeping alone in my hotel room, need I say more?)

Totally disappointed with the lack of excitement and girls in the club, we left at 1 am (as promised, we gave it an hour between 12 to 1 to see if the party will pick up, which didn't). That was the first time in my life leaving a club that early! Weiyong's picture really sums up our Zouk KL experience. LOL...

We had a late supper and retire back to our hotel. And we met up with a very strange group at the lobby, two German guys and a local Chinese guy. How do I see the connection? What do you think? Everything would have seemed fine had it not for the older German gentleman giving the us the eye.

The next day was uneventful, woke up late for breakfast, and then slept again.

Checked out at 12pm. I checked out later cause I lost one of my two room key cards! I lost it when I was checking the room for anything I might have left behind. How ironic was that?

We thought of going down to Petaling again for Weiqiang to finally get his denim berms. But then we strayed into the internat cafe (see top) and played 3 hours of our life away. Went back to Petaling, I think I have a phobia of the place. Ironically, Weiqiang bought the berms from the rude shopkeeper's shop (that son-of-a-bitch who grabbed my arm). We didn't know initially cause the shopkeeper that time was a different dude until that ass came in just as Weiqiang was about to pay for the berms. I bolted out of the shop immediately of course. That S.O.B.

We then took our coach back to Singapore. And we had the whole bus to ourselves. Haha, we felt like VIPs. There were 2 drivers and 3 of us, plus another two unidentified passengers (I'm guessing local travellers who paid extra, illegally of course). It was the only sense of luxury I felt in the entire trip. Sad but true...

So it was just us three by the time we reached Singapore at 11pm. Tired, feverish, I went back taking my daddy's car. He asked me, "So you enjoyed it?"

What did I say? What could I say? I said, "Another time I'll tell you, Daddy, I'm super shagged..."

See all of the pictures here.

No more KL (no offense, KLiens). Next trip, Phuket, Thailand. Any takers?

    So boring... Yawn...

Latest Update: A sourvenir from KL, chicken pox. That's why this entry took 5 excruciatingly long days to be completed then published.

    Year Of the Bitch!
Bitched on: Wednesday, February 01, 2006
    Time: 2/01/2006 01:31:00 PM

Ola to all! I'm not just gonna sit quietly and let the change of the new lunar new year pass by. I'm gonna bitch about it of course!

    Nah.. I'm really not.

Erm... That's all I guess. Tune in to the next blog.

PS. And to all those bitches and sluts who keep looking at my friendster profile and keep requesting to be friends, PUT on clothes (not cleavage spilling ones) and take decent photos of yourself and add me only if you are my friend (I know you, you know me). And also to those guys (who really think they are studs topless), I AM NOT INTERESTED! Haha.

    Ciao!

    New Year Resolutions
Bitched on: Friday, December 30, 2005
    Time: 12/30/2005 10:32:00 PM

Notice: For once, I will go out of character and not bitch in this post (not so much)...

2006 will be a special year for me.

I will ORD (goodbye SAF, hello CV World) on March 16th and I'll start my tertiary studies in August. Furthermore, I will turn 21 on 11 September (so old...so adult...woohoo R(21).) Its a huge step (more like a jump to me...) I am so nervous facing these changes, these challenges ahead... So I have come up with a list of things I will want to do or hope to achieve this 2006.

This will be my New Year's resolutions for year 2006...

    • ORD without any glitches i.e. no extras before D-Day, fingers crossed.
    • Use lesser vulgarities (should be more civilised now...dammit)
    • Decide without regret which course I want to go in Uni (even decide which university to go to - NUS or NTU??).....I'm so fickle-minded (my friends are so not surprised)
    • Have a healthy body (I've been going gym like often now) and complexion (thanks to the dermatologist and proper diet), so metrosexual rite? I scare myself....
    • have long long hair (flowing~~~....rite....)
    • have a job before I start Uni (any lobangs anyone?)
    • revise on my 'A' levels subjects again (err.. differentiation, blood circulation, probability, periodic table, transpiration, reactive metals, er... my English?)
    • buy a completely new wardrobe (Uni no more unforms leh...)
    • contradictory to above, I need to save money for my uni course (only God knows which course)
    • have my driving license before I start school (I just applied for my BT today, 30/12/05, still a long way, I know.)
    • have a girlfriend (to stop rumours and teasing that I bat for the other side... sheesh..... I know I have been single for a long time.... a LONG time...too long...)
    • lose my virginity (haha.. Kidding. Lost that along time ago.... rite......LOL)
    • start being nicer to strangers starting with my one-night-stands (OK, this is pushing it too far... LOL), seriously, I should smile more often to other people. Be more pleasant and friendly. Make more friends. Why stop with people...
    • I'll be kinder to animals. I am going to start rearing colourful marine fishy with colourful sea coral and colourful wiggly anemone and a small clown fish (named Nemo) and and....err..
    • pick up a physical sport like soccer (rite....)
    • Ok, maybe watersports. I have always wanted to scuba dive (is it a sport?) or wake boarding.
    • stay clear from smoking (I admit, I have tried it once in a while...) and drinking (despite pressures from my friends to drink, I am still sticking to my guns) and sex (rite....OK fine stay away from porn....sigh...)
    • and finally I hope I can be closer to God (and start praying again). Amin...

    On a more serious note:

I hope 2006 will be a peaceful year (not only in my life but in the world).

Though in 2005, we were not as much affected by war and terrorism (except for the 2nd Bali bombings... damn those lunatics) as we were in 2004 and the years before, Mother Nature seemed to really hate us humans this year (what a bitch... really). The year 2005 started solemnly with the Boxing Day earthquake and its devastating tsunamis across the Indian Ocean, the bird flu outbreak in Eastern Asia, the Malaria outbreak in South East Asia, Hurricane Katrina in the USA, the heat wave in Europe, the massive earthquakes in the Indian Himalayas, now floods in Indo-China...

I hope with all these disasters, a silver lining will emerge, all countries will now put aside their differences to work together and help one another, united (sounds corny, I know).

There are more (corny but serious) things I hope 2006 can bring...

I hope hunger and poverty will be a thing of a past.

I hope everyone can have access to clean portable water.

May the sleeping developed countries see and respond to the plight of the third world countries.

I hope there will no longer be supression of people's rights and freedom. Everyone is entitled to do what they want, say what they want, watch or read what they want, report news without fear or biasness, marry whoever they want (same sex or inter-racial) or practise their faith freely without prosecution or discrimination.

I hope a cure for AIDS and other (currently) incurable diseases will be found. Hopefully, no more young child will become an orphan or victim to these diseases.

I hope there will no longer be the need for war. And terrorism is no longer a threat. Everyone can travel and live freely without fear or suspicion.

I hope Tomkat will just break up. And Jennifer Aniston will just agree to polygamy with Bratt Pitt.

    I hope...

I hope 2006 will be great.

    just great...

    Happy 2006 Everyone.

    My Horrible Holiday
Bitched on: Tuesday, December 27, 2005
    Time: 12/27/2005 10:30:00 PM

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, home to the world-renowned Petronas Twin Towers and also to a good friend of mine. And also the setting to the worst holiday I ever had so far.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't the place that spoilt the holiday for me but it was the company i had throughout the 4 days there.

Trouble started when i heard that both my sisters would not be joining me in the trip (one was working, the other in Bintan). So, it was me and my folks. And my Uncle's family...

I believe I would make a great dad one day but definitely not now. My two youngers cousins.
How loveable those pests were. Did I say pests? Opps... I'll elaborate later.

My nightmare holiday started in the wee hours of Friday. At the traffic congested 2nd Link (we should have a 3rd Link, duncha think?).

3 hours or so later, we reached KL. Lost, hungry and sleepy, we drove on and on around and around the (frustratingly confusing) road system there looking for our hotel. To make matters worst, the traffic congestion was so bad, we were travelling at some parts at almost 100 metres (not kilometres) per hour!

Countless wrong turns later, we reached our destination. A cheap budget hotel.
It was close to the shopping district (it was the only thing on my mind) but seriously in need of a revamp (more like they should demolish it with tonnes of explosives and just build a much needed carpark over the ruins). But who is to complain, it was the only hotel we could find at that time with available rooms (what happened to our reservations you might asked? well, there's an unwritten rule somewhere that allows hotels to forgo your reservations if you are late for 5 hours or so...)

After settling down in our 'square-ish' cell (I mean room), it was time to shop and unwind. But God was cruel when He unleashed heavy downpours one after another, leaving us stranded in our hotel rooms.
So no shopping that day. I was so looking forward to going down to the bazaars of Masjid India (Indian Mosque) or Pertaling Street (KL's Chinatown) and the shopping belt around KLCC (the twin towers shopping centre).

Did I spend the night out at the happening night scene that night?
Let me ask you this - who the hell could I go out with?
So no clubbing that night. I was so looking forward to going to the much-talked-about KL's Zouk.

A surprise awaited me the next morning. We were heading up to Genting Highlands.
My sixth sense was tingling like crazy, with so much rain, I wouldn't be surprise that it would be wet up there too.

    I hated to be right.

It was constantly pouring. I froze my butt up there. Fortunately, we had fine deluxe suites (not by choice though, again the only available rooms) in a very posh hotel at the foot of the Genting hill (or izzit mountain?).

Where did the entire population of Malaysia go to on Christmas Day?
The answer apparently was Genting Highlands. It seemed that the whole Malaysia was there, shoulder to shoulder in the indoor theme park (to escape the rain outdoors).
Suffocating in the sea of bodies and lost in the snaking queues, I gave up the idea of playing a single game or ride. I went up Genting Highlands with 100 RM in my wallet, I came down with the 100 RM.

Two days same story. Nothing. Damn I miss those good old days when Genting was less crowded and less well-knowned with less hotel rooms (i.e. to say lesser tourists capacity) and better maintained rides and attractions (Filthy with a capital F).

Not forgeting the 3 nights of interrupted sleep (thanks to Daddy dearest's snoring, how did my mum stand it for the past 30 years?).

So that was my holiday (did i forget to talk about my annoying cousins? Nah.. i'll leave it to another story).

    It sucked!!!
